JVC KB Series

The KB series are home keyboards.  The sounds are not editable but they do use analogue means to make their melodic sounds, although either some or all of the models use DCOs.  They can be divided into two sub groups, they being the Non-MIDI and MIDI machines.  Though there's more than just the issue of MIDI compatibility that separates the 2 groups, each has it's own look and non-MIDI machines have analogue drums sounds where as the MIDI KBs use PCM (ie digital samples).  Non-MIDI machines use the POTS (Programmable Organ Tone Synthesizer) chip to make their sounds where as MIDI KBs use the POTS 2 chip to make it's sound.

Most or all of the series had a prefix of B, H or N to the model name which is determined by region.
